Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

What it is

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps people understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact. For ADHD, CBT supports managing attention, organisation, impulsivity, and emotional regulation. It equips individuals with practical strategies to improve focus, plan tasks, and cope with challenges in daily life.

What to Expect

Treatment begins with an assessment of attention, behaviour, and emotional challenges. Together with your therapist, you will set goals, learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and practise skills to manage focus, organisation, and behaviour in real-life situations.

ADHD Coaching and Skills-Based Therapy

What it is

ADHD coaching focuses on practical skill development and support for executive functioning challenges. It helps individuals develop routines, manage time, organise tasks, and implement strategies for school, work, and home life.

What to Expect

Your coach or therapist will work with you to identify areas where organisation, planning, or time management is difficult. Together, you will create tailored strategies, build effective routines, and practise applying them until they become habits. This therapy can also improve motivation and self-confidence.

Psychoeducation and Parent/Family Support

What it is

Understanding ADHD is essential for both individuals and families. Psychoeducation helps you learn about how ADHD affects attention, behaviour, and emotions. Parent or family support sessions provide strategies to manage challenges at home or school, and improve communication and relationships.

What to Expect

Sessions may involve individuals, parents, or families. You will learn practical techniques for managing ADHD-related difficulties, explore coping strategies, and receive guidance on supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation. Family involvement can make a significant difference in outcomes and day-to-day functioning.

Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation Strategies

What it is

Mindfulness and emotion-focused strategies support self-awareness, focus, and the ability to manage impulsivity and frustration. These approaches complement therapy and coaching, helping individuals respond more calmly to stressors.

What to Expect

Through guided exercises and daily practice, you will learn skills to improve attention, reduce stress, and regulate emotions. These techniques support long-term management of ADHD symptoms and enhance overall wellbeing.
